Forgive the quality but I decided to add to the site just a few of my numerous 'yellowing' 1980's newspaper articles!! It was hard to choose which articles to include so I decided on a few different types rather than just Dirty Den stories. Hope the quality hasn't spoilt your enjoyment of this page.

BBC TV Personality of the Year
The EastEnders magic has worked again ! Dirty den and his pals picked up a top showbiz award yesterday ( 3 february 1987). The entire cast were named as BBC TV personality of the year. And stars Leslie Grantham and Wendy Richard were at a celebrity-packed lunch in London to collect the Variety Club trophy.

Den, actor Leslie Grantham, was certainly hoping to be on a winner when his Queen Victoria team met their arch rivals from the Dagmar in a five-a-side football match. Here he is pictured with Wicksy, actor Nick Berry.

Tribute to Don Henderson, a fine actor
Actors Don Henderson and Leslie Grantham are celebrating a new TV series together, The Paradise Club. And where better than outside the real Paradise, a favourite haunt of the wealthy in Monte Carlo. It's back to the East End though, playing brothers who run a seedy dance hall.
The late Don Henderson was a fine actor and will probably most be remembered for his role TV cop Bulman. When Leslie joined up with Don for the Paradise Club he described the pairing as ' MFI actor joins up with 'real talent' !! That was Leslie's tribute to the great actor that was Don Henderson. Salute to Soap
Leslie Grantham joins Falcon Crest star Morgan Fairchild and Jan Harvey to launch the world's biggest-ever Salute to soap. This was the first ever awards ceremony for TV soaps and was held in London.
